Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a product that comes from the cannabis plant. Though it comes from a cannabis plant CBD does not create a “high” effect or any forms of intoxication like the other widely known cannabinoid, known as THC.
There is some controversy when it comes to CBD but that generally comes from the misinformed that confuse CBD with THC. Though we have some controversy it is coming to light more widely that CBD has many health benefits that most people do not know. We provide 6 that most do not know about.
1. Relieving Anxiety
CBD may be used to help those with anxiety. Researchers think this is because it may change the way your brains receptors react with serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical linked to mental health. Receptors are small proteins attached to your cells that receive chemical messages.
One study showed how 600 mg of CBD helped people with social anxiety give a speech. Other studies showed CBD relieved anxiety in animals by reducing stress, inducing sleep in cases of insomnia, and decreasing the physiological effect of anxiety such as increased heart rate.
2. Prevent Seizures
There have been reports early on the CBD can reduce seizers for people that have epilepsy. Research is still in its early stage where they are currently testing to see how effective CBD is in reducing seizures and as well how safe it is for the patient.
In 2016 a study worked with 214 people with epilepsy. Participants added oral doses of 2 to 5mg of CBD per day to their existing anti-epilepsy medications. The study’s researchers monitored the participants for 12 weeks, recording any negative side effects and checking on the frequency of their seizures. Overall, participants had 36.5 percent fewer seizures per month. However, severe adverse effects were recorded in 12 percent of the participants.
3. Help With Neurodegenerative disorders
Researchers are currently looking into how CBD can help people with neurodegenerative disorders. They are looking at one receptor located in the brain known as CB1
Researchers are studying how CBD oil can be used for
CBD oil may be reducing inflammation that can make neurodegenerative symptoms worse. Of course, they are still in the early stages of this research.
The effect of CBD oil to manage pain is probably the most known wisely by most people. But not known is the help it offers patients with chemotherapy and pre-clinic studies are study the role it plays in relieving symptoms for
Spinal Cord Injuries
Nabiximols (Sativex), a multiple sclerosis drug made from a combination of TCH and CBD, is approved in the United Kingdom and Canada to treat MS pain. Researchers think the CBD may be contributing more with its anti-inflammatory properties than reducing pain. Clinical trials of CBD are necessary to determine whether or not it should be used for pain management.
5. Prevent Acne
CBD has shown to have effects on receptors in the immune system that may help inflammation throughout the body overall. This may help offer benefits to acne management. A human study published in The Journal Of Clinical Investigation found that the oil prevented activity in sebaceous glands. These glands produce sebum. Sebum is a natural oil that hydrates your skin. Too much sebum leads to acne.
Before considering CBD for acne management please see your dermatologist because more studies do need to been done for acne treatment.
6. Treating Cancer
Some studies have look into the role CBD has in preventing cancer cell growth. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) says that CBD may help alleviate cancer symptoms and cancer treatment side effects. The NCI does not fully endorse CBD as a cancer treatment. CBD has shown promise in its ability to moderate inflammation and change how cells reproduce. CBD has shown signs in reducing some types of growth in tumors.
CBD hasn’t been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any medical uses, and it can have side effects. Consult your doctor for any medical treatments. CDB is illegal in some states but it widely getting accepted.
